Huong Van Sa (Mud Silk) is a type of silk fabric dyed with pure natural plant dyes. An ancient technique practiced for 2500 years in the Guangdong Province of China. The production quantity is very limited, and it takes a long time to complete. It’s rare, this silk. Only a few pieces can be produced each year in concert with the distinct elements of this region.  And it gets better with each wearing, lasting a lifetime.
This fabric is flame-resistant and water-resistant.  It is soft, lightweight, and holds its shape well. It is particularly suitable for wearing in the summer as it provides a cool feeling. It does not require frequent washing (limited washing due to its water-repellent nature). Additionally, Huong Van Sa fabric has antibacterial and antioxidant properties, making it gentle on the skin.
In June 2008, the technique of producing Huong Van Sa silk was recognized as intangible cultural heritage at the national level.
On July 6, 2011, the National Quality Inspection Agency approved the implementation of product protection for Huong Van silk fibers.
